  • Best time to travel

    December to April (dry season) and June through August. During the rainy season (particularly September to November), the river levels are higher, which creates a more challenging white-water ride.

    Arrival in San Jose

    Today you arrive in Costa Rica! Your guide will take you to your downtown boutique hotel where you will spend your first night of this journey.

  • Day 2

    Rafting Pacuaré River

    Arriving in your Eco-Lodge is an adventure in itself. Drive 2 hours outside San Jose until reaching your put-in point, you will hop on your boat and raft down the thrilling rapids of the Pacuaré River until reaching your lodge check in point on the edge of the river.

      Pacuare Lodge is tucked deep within 25,000 acres of pristine, protected Costa Rican rain forest on the banks of the Pacuare River, just north of the Talamanca Mountains. You can sit down to a delightful candlelit dinner at a table set high in the rain forest canopy or on the riverbank or take a spontaneous hike to a nearby swimming hole and bathe under a waterfall.

  • Day 3

    Discovering Pacuaré

    Choose between canopy adventure, canyoning, ancient trail, hidden waterfall hike, or any other in the wide range of magnificent activities that can be done on site.

  • Day 4

    Arriving in Puerto Viejo

    Get your second thrill down the rivers and gorges as you leave your lodge, then, take a scenic drive to lively Puerto Viejo to enjoy your next 3 days surrounded by jungle, wildlife and pristine beaches.

  • Day 5

    ​Leisure day in Puerto Viejo

    Today you have the day to explore this natural paradise located between the Caribbean Sea and the Talamanca Mountain Range. Discover paradisiac beaches with incredible reefs below the surface, indigenous communities, delicious local food and fun reggae music.

  • Day 6

    Cahuita National Park Exploration

    Visit Cahuita village by foot with your private guide, observe a rich and wide variety of autochthonous fauna and colorful flora. Cahuita also features the country’s largest coral reef and you will have the chance to be amazed by the wonderful marine life that inhabit it snorkeling its waters and learning about how to preserve life in the sea.

  • Day 7

    ​ Last day in Puerto Viejo

    Enjoy a leisure morning before taking your private transfer to San Jose early in the afternoon. Take a 4hr drive back to San Jose and be delighted by the gorgeous scenery.

  • Day 8

    Pura Vida, Costa Rica!

     Today is your departure day. Your driver will take you to the airport to catch your flight home.
